Rebuild Our Economy & Infrastructure

Missouri is an incredible state with an envious geographic advantage as a regional and national logistical hub. Bordering eight states with access to the most important railways, highways, ports, and waterways of any state in the region, our opportunities are endless with the right vision. Unfortunately, Missouri politicians are squandering the opportunities we have to create new, good-paying jobs, excellent schools, and the quality of life that attracts businesses, workers, and families to the Show Me State.

  • Reduce Regulatory Burden: Excessive regulations drive up the costs of doing business and impede economic growth and job creation. As Governor, I will conduct a top-to-bottom review of the state’s regulatory structure and streamline excessive, unnecessary, and duplicative regulations.

  • Make Missouri a Right to Work State: Competitive states who are attracting new companies and investments are Right to Work states – and they are thriving. It is time to make Missouri a Right to Work state and allow workers to make their own decision about joining a union, not be required to.

  • Invest in Job Training Programs: As the American economy transitions from manufacturing to technology, many Missourians are getting left behind. We need to make sure every Missourian has the tools needed to make a living and provide for their family. I will work with our education institutions to expand vocational training opportunities for every Missourian to develop the skills to compete in today’s changing job market.

  • Invest in Education: Missouri ranks 31st in the nation for education quality and it is hurting our state. We need to fund students, not systems, and modernize our system to reflect the 21st century opportunities to provide better education opportunities to attract people to the state for world class education.

  • Recognize Out-of-State Licenses: To help grow our workforce, attract new workers to Missouri, and increase the number of licenses professional in our state, I will allow the State to recognize out-of-state licenses in a range of occupations.

  • Make Our Communities Safe: The first job of government is to keep people safe, and it will be a priority in an Ashcroft Administration. We will invest in police, hold criminals accountable, and deliver measurable results that will make everyone from the cities, to the suburbs, to rural communities, safe from crime.
