Welcome to our website. This is an exciting time, and I’m glad you’re interested in our effort to bring leadership, integrity and vision to the Secretary of State’s office.
Let me tell you a bit about myself.
God has blessed me with a wonderful family. My wife, Katie, is an accomplished attorney, a fantastic mother, and my most steadfast supporter.
We have four precocious, energetic and curious children: Three sons and one daughter. Needless to say, these are busy times in the Ashcroft household!
My parents, John and Janet, have shaped my understanding of the purpose of government and taught me at an early age to prioritize my faith, family and freedom.
My path to this race has been eventful.
After graduating from high school in Jefferson City, I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Engineering Management from the University of Missouri at Rolla (now Missouri S&T).
From Rolla, I went to work for a Missouri-based defense contractor, leading a team that oversaw the design, creation and quality assurance of vehicles for the Air Force. I worked hand-in-hand with a great team of men and women as we developed instruments that would be used to keep our nation safe and free.
Then, in 2000, I moved to St. Louis and began teaching engineering at St. Louis Community College. While serving as a professor, I enrolled in the St. Louis University Law School, from which I graduated with my J.D. in 2008.
After law school, I went to work for Armstrong Teasdale, practicing law in their Intellectual Property Group.
Today, I get to work with my father in the Ashcroft Law Firm, where I specialize in helping businesses comply with the impact of government regulations. I’ve seen firsthand how too much bureaucracy, and over-regulation can make it nearly impossible for small businesses to even get started, let alone thrive. Click here to see how I’ll put this experience to work to help Missouri’s small businesses.
Now, you know a little bit more about me. I look forward to meeting you as I travel across the state!
